New Anime Adaptation: "Isshiki-san Wants to Know Romance" Announced

Kadokawa has revealed exciting news for fans of romantic comedies with the announcement of an anime adaptation of Ayune Araragi's manga, "Isshiki-san Wants to Know Romance". The studio unveiled a teaser visual and a special Valentine's Day visual to generate anticipation for the upcoming series.

Production Team Details

The anime is being directed by Kazuya Komai, who has previously worked on popular anime such as "Tenjho Tenge", "BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad", and "Pita-Ten" as an episode director. The animation production is being handled by Sakura Create. Deko Akao, known for their work on series like "Komi Can't Communicate", "Noragami", and "The Case Study of Vanitas", is overseeing the series scripts. Shohei Hamaguchi, who previously worked on "Glamorous Heroes", is in charge of designing the characters for the anime.

Storyline Overview

"Isshiki-san Wants to Know Romance" is a romantic comedy that revolves around Rinna Isshiki, an elite and disciplined officer who joined the police force at the young age of 17. Despite her professional success, Rinna has never experienced romantic love. Her life takes an interesting turn when she encounters Meishi Rokutanda, a kind-hearted but somewhat scatterbrained and incompetent detective. The story follows these two novices in the world of romance as they navigate the complexities of relationships and discover what love truly means. They become a couple, of sorts, as they learn together.

Manga Origins

Ayune Araragi launched the "Isshiki-san Wants to Know Romance" manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine in June 2020. The manga has gained popularity, and Kadokawa published the ninth compiled volume on October 23.

Visual Appeal

The teaser visual and the Valentine's Day visual offer a glimpse into the aesthetic of the anime. The images showcase the characters and hint at the light-hearted and romantic tone of the series.
