Live-Action Film Adaptation of "In the Clear Moonlit Dusk" Announced

A live-action film adaptation of Mika Yamamoris popular manga series, "In the Clear Moonlit Dusk" (Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki), is set to be released this fall. The announcement was made by TBS, promising a captivating cinematic rendition of the beloved story.

Cast and Crew Details

The film will star Shunsuke Michieda, known for his roles in the live-action "My Love Mix-Up!" TV series and "The Kindaichi Case Files" series, as Kohaku Ichimura. Opposite him, Seira Anzai, recognized for her work in the live-action "Insomniacs After School" film and "Trillion Game" TV series, will portray Yoi Takiguchi.

Kentarō Takemura, who previously directed the live-action "Trillion Game" TV series, will helm the film. The script is penned by Yuichi Tokunaga, the writer behind the live-action "Densha Otoko" TV series. The music composition is entrusted to Shū Kanematsu, known for his work on "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" and "Aquarion: Myth of Emotions."

Production and Distribution

TBS TV is overseeing the production of the film at TBS Sparkle, ensuring a high-quality adaptation of the manga. TOHO, a prominent film distribution company, will handle the distribution of the film, bringing it to audiences across the country.

"In the Clear Moonlit Dusk" tells the story of Yoi Takiguchi, a high school student with a handsome appearance and a deep voice, often mistaken for a boy. Nicknamed "Prince" since childhood, Yoi encounters Ichimura-senpai, the first person who truly sees her for who she is. The story explores their evolving relationship and the challenges they face as two high school princes.

Manga Background

Mika Yamamori launched the manga series in Dessert magazine in 2020. Kodansha published the mangas 10th compiled book volume on January 13, showcasing the series continued popularity. The manga ranked #11 on the list of manga for female readers in the 2023 edition of Takarajimashas Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook, highlighting its appeal among female readers.

Anime Adaptation

Prior to the film announcement, an anime adaptation of "In the Clear Moonlit Dusk" premiered on January 11 on TBS and affiliated channels. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime as it airs in Japan, allowing international fans to enjoy the animated version of the story.
