'Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken' Fourth Season Unveils Production Staff, Theme Songs, First Promo


That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4: Production Details and More

The official website for the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime has unveiled exciting details regarding the highly anticipated fourth season. Fans can look forward to a fresh wave of episodes starting April 3rd, broadcast on NTV's Friday Anime Night programming block at 11:00 p.m., followed by BS11. The season will be divided into five cours, with the first two scheduled to air initially.

New and Returning Staff Members

A talented team is behind the production of this season. Naokatsu Tsuda, known for directing JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (TV), takes on the role of director. Kenji Yasuda, who directed Somali to Mori no Kamisama, will serve as assistant director. Atsushi Nakayama, the director of the second season, will supervise. Hitomi Ogawa, who worked on the script for Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, is in charge of series composition.

Ryouma Ebata returns as character designer, while Takahiro Kishida, the character designer for Gleipnir, handles monster design. Masayori Komine (Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan), Hideki Yamazaki (Noragami), and Tomoko Itou (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Cosmos Movie) are the chief animation directors. Studio Naya will handle the art. Ayumi Sato (Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo) is the art director. Remy Boisseuil (Shy), Masahiro Satou (Ore dake Level Up na Ken), and Ayami Hidaka (Mahoutsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito) contribute to art design.

Maki Saitou (Akujiki Reijou to Kyouketsu Koushaku) is the color designer. Hiroshi Satou (Knight's & Magic) is the director of photography. Yuuji Haibara (Tensura Nikki: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken) is the graphic designer. Hironori Morino (Macross Δ) serves as CG director. Yumi Jinguuji (Apocalypse Hotel) is the editor. Jin Aketagawa (Golden Kamuy) is the sound director. R・O・N (Ninja Kamui) composes the music. The animation is produced by Studio 8bit.

Theme Songs and Promotional Video

Adding to the excitement, singer-songwriter Eir Aoi (Sword Art Online) will perform the opening theme, titled "Esoragoto." The ending theme, "Katsubou," is performed by CiON. A promotional video has been released, offering a preview of the opening theme and glimpses into the upcoming season.

Manga and Light Novel Origins

The anime is adapted from Taiki Kawakami's manga, which in turn is based on Fuse and Mitz Vah's fantasy light novel series. The manga began serialization in Kodansha's Shounen Sirius in March 2015. The 31st volume was released on February 9th.

Kodansha USA has licensed the manga for English release. The 28th volume was released on December 23rd, with the 29th volume scheduled for release on March 31st.

Fuse's original light novel was initially published on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from February 2013 to October 2016. Micro Magazine acquired the novel and began publishing it under their GC Novels imprint in May 2014, featuring illustrations by Mitz Vah. The series concluded with the 23rd volume in November 2025.

Yen Press has licensed the light novel for English release. The 22nd volume went on sale on February 10th. The original light novel started as a web novel. The web novel gained considerable popularity. The light novel adaptation refined the story.
