Rooster Fighter Anime Set to Debut with DARUMA Rollin' Theme Song

The upcoming anime adaptation of Shu Sakuratani's Rooster Fighter manga is generating considerable buzz, and fans have a date to mark on their calendars. The series will premiere on Toonami on March 14th, offering a first look at the animated adventures of Keiji, the extraordinary rooster who defends humanity. Following its debut on Toonami, the anime will become available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu starting March 15th, expanding its reach to a wider audience. Japanese television audiences will get their chance to watch when the anime airs in Japan on April 5th.

Viz Media has provided a synopsis of the story, highlighting the central character, Keiji. He is no ordinary rooster; he is Earth's ultimate protector. "What's a Hero?": DARUMA Rollin' Delivers the Opening Theme

Adding to the excitement surrounding the anime's release, Viz Media has released a new English-subtitled dub trailer featuring the opening theme song, "What's a Hero?" The song is performed by the band DARUMA Rollin', injecting a dose of energy and excitement into the anime's introduction. The trailer provides a glimpse into the anime's visuals and introduces viewers to the soundscape that will accompany Keiji's adventures.

Production Team and Global Distribution

Daisuke Suzuki, known for his work on D4DJ All Mix, is directing the Rooster Fighter anime at SANZIGEN. Hiroshi Seko, whose credits include Jujutsu Kaisen and Mob Psycho 100, is responsible for the series scripts, ensuring a compelling and well-crafted narrative. Joseph Chou, known for Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya, and Sola Entertainment are producing the anime. Viz Media is handling the anime's global streaming, television broadcast, electronic sell-through, home video distribution, and merchandising outside of Japan. Hero's Inc. will manage electronic sell-through, home video, and merchandising within Japan.

Manga Origins and Licensing

Shu Sakuratani launched the Rooster Fighter manga on the Comiplex manga website in December 2020. Hero's published the manga's 11th compiled book volume on January 5th. Viz Media has licensed the manga for English publication, releasing the ninth volume on January 20th. This gives English-speaking audiences the chance to immerse themselves in the world of Rooster Fighter before the anime premieres. The manga provides a foundation for the anime adaptation, and its popularity suggests the anime will find a receptive audience.
