One Piece Live-Action Season 2: Into the Grand Line is Almost Here
Netflix is gearing up to release the highly anticipated second season of its live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga, One Piece. The final trailer for "One Piece: Into the Grand Line" has just dropped, and fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere.
Premiere Date and Theatrical Release
Mark your calendars for March 10, as that's when the second season will officially launch on Netflix. In a special treat for fans, the first two episodes will also be screened in over 200 theaters across Canada, the United States, and Japan on the same day. This offers a unique opportunity to experience the beginning of the Grand Line saga on the big screen.
Season 2 Story Arc
Series creator Eiichiro Oda has confirmed that the second season will cover the story up to the Drum Island arc. This means viewers can expect to see the Straw Hat crew's adventures in Loguetown, their navigation of Reverse Mountain and Twin Cape, their encounters in Whiskey Peak and Little Garden, and ultimately, their arrival and experiences on Drum Island.
Changes in Production Team
The second season sees some changes behind the scenes. Joe Tracz, known for his work on "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," joins as a writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner, working alongside Matt Owens, who returns from the first season as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner. Steve Maeda, co-showrunner from season 1, will continue as an executive producer. However, Matt Owens announced his departure after season 2 production to focus on his mental health.

The first live-action One Piece season debuted on Netflix in August 2023 and consisted of eight episodes. The series garnered recognition at The 3rd Annual Children's & Family Emmy Awards, winning awards for "Outstanding Original Song for a Children's or Young Teen Program" and "Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Live Program."
Production Details
Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios, produced the first live-action season, with Becky Clements serving as an executive producer alongside Maeda.
