The series will be broadcast on NTV and BS NTV channels.

Mirai Tachibana steps into the leading role, providing the voice for Yuri, the young protagonist unexpectedly transported through time. Wataru Kato takes on the significant character of Kail Muršili, who is destined to become King Muršili II. Hiroki Nanami has a dual role, voicing Yuri's classmate and boyfriend Satoshi Himuro, and also serving as the anime's narrator, guiding viewers through the unfolding narrative.

Leading the creative direction for the "Red River" anime is Kosuke Kobayashi, who has previously directed titles such as "Waccha PriMagi!" and "Alice or Alice." Kobayashi oversees the production at Tatsunoko Production, a studio with a rich history in anime. Yoriko Tomita, recognized for her work on series scripts for "The Elusive Samurai" and "My Dress-Up Darling," is responsible for overseeing the series scripts, ensuring the story's adaptation remains faithful and compelling. Chie Shinohara's original "Red River" manga enjoyed a successful serialization run from 1995 to 2002. It was published in Shogakukan's Sho-Comi magazine, captivating readers for years. Viz Media played a crucial role in bringing the story to English-speaking audiences, first releasing the manga in North America starting in 2004. The company published all 28 volumes between 2004 and 2010. Demonstrating its continued popularity, Viz Media began re-releasing the manga in convenient 3-in-1 omnibus editions in October 2024. The seventh volume of these omnibus editions is scheduled for release on April 21.
