Studio Comet Unveils Anime for I'm Looking For Zombie with Main Cast and Staff
Kadokawa has officially released a teaser promotional video and a new teaser visual for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Katsuwo's manga, titled I'm Looking For Zombie. The announcement also included details on the main cast, core production staff, and an October premiere window for the series. Studio Comet is producing the anime.
The World of I'm Looking For Zombie
The story is characterized as a "zombie x youth comedy" set in a post-apocalyptic world. Thirteen years prior to the events of the narrative, a devastating event known as the "Red Day" occurred. This cataclysmic day saw a virulent disease spread globally, resulting in ninety percent of Earth's human population contracting the illness and subsequently dying. These deceased individuals then rose again as zombies, relentlessly attacking any surviving people. Following the societal and civilizational collapse, the remaining human survivors have established lives away from the major cities, harboring a long-term hope of eventually reclaiming these urban centers. An entirely new generation of individuals has emerged, growing up without any personal experience or memory of the world as it existed before the Red Day. The central plot begins as Aki and her close companions, Haru and Natsuki, embark on a perilous journey with the objective of locating Aki's missing father.
Introduction to the Main Cast and Characters
The ensemble of key characters will be voiced by a talented cast of performers. Each character brings a unique personality and skill set to the unfolding narrative.
Miyari Nemoto takes on the role of Aki, the central protagonist. Aki grew up in a secluded village, specifically isolated from the widespread zombie presence. She belongs to the new generation, possessing no direct knowledge of the pre-Red Day world. Her personal mission drives the initial plot as she ventures out of her village to find her missing father. Aki's primary weapon is a distinctive modified saw, crucial for her survival in this dangerous environment.
Lynn voices Natsuki, Aki's close friend. Natsuki possesses a unique perspective, judging everything she encounters based on whether it is "cute" or "not cute." This characteristic defines much of her interactions and reactions. Her chosen weapon is a vibrant pink bow and arrow, reflecting her distinctive style.
Toshiya Miyata portrays Haru, Aki and Natsuki's childhood friend. Haru is intensely dedicated to muscle development and physical strength, never missing an opportunity for a strength-training session, regardless of time or location. His commitment to physical prowess is evident in his fighting style. Haru's main weapons consist of a baseball bat and his own formidable muscles.
Hibiku Yamamura joins the cast as Yū. Yū, along with Sakura, was rescued by Aki and her friends during a perilous zombie attack. She possesses extensive knowledge regarding the "outside world," providing valuable insights to the group. Despite her intellectual strength, Yū is characterized by an extremely low athletic ability.
Yuka Nukui is cast as Sakura. Sakura was also with Yū when they were rescued by Aki and the others from a zombie assault. She is depicted as kind-hearted and level-headed, maintaining composure in challenging situations. While she appears to have no prior experience in fighting zombies, her full capabilities remain to be explored.
