New Cast Members Announced for "The Cat and the Dragon" Anime

The anime adaptation of Amara's "The Cat and the Dragon" novels has revealed additional cast members to celebrate Cat Day. The announcement came with a promotional video and visual showcasing the new characters.

Kikuko Inoue as Mama-nyan

Kikuko Inoue will voice Mama-nyan, a feline mother responsible for raising both kittens and a dragon. Her character is expected to play a nurturing role in the story.

Fuka Izumi as Shirotae

Fuka Izumi joins the cast as Shirotae, a cat with aspirations of claiming its own territory. This character's ambition will likely drive its actions within the narrative.

Show Hayami as Kurobane

Show Hayami will portray Kurobane, a strong black cat residing deep within a forest. Kurobane's strength and location suggest a potentially isolated and resilient character.

Noriaki Sugiyama as Haibuchi

Noriaki Sugiyama is set to voice Haibuchi, a nosy cat living in a town protected by a castle. Haibuchi's inquisitive nature might lead to discoveries and involvement in the town's affairs.

The names of many of these feline characters incorporate the Japanese words for colors, such as "shiro" for white, "kuro" for black, and "haiiro" for gray. These color associations could reflect the characters' appearances or personalities.

Amara began publishing the web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro in September 2013. Takarajimasha released the first light novel volume in hardcover, featuring illustrations by Mai Okuma, in April 2016. The eighth light novel volume was released on April 12.
