Iron Wok Jan! Anime Adaptation Announced for 2026

The culinary battle manga Tetsunabe no Jan! (Iron Wok Jan!) is getting a television anime adaptation. The official website unveiled the main cast, additional staff members, a teaser visual, and a promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere on TV Tokyo in 2026.

Cast Reveal

The main cast has been announced, featuring voice actors for the central characters.

  • Jan Akiyama will be voiced by Kikunosuke Toya, known for his role in Chainsaw Man.
  • Kiriko Gobancho will be voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa, recognized for her performance in 86.
  • Takao Okonogi will be voiced by Kouhei Amasaki, who is known for voicing characters in Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san.
  • The Narrator will be voiced by Kenjirou Tsuda, famed for roles in Hataraku Saibou Black.

Staff Details

The anime adaptation boasts a talented team of staff members.

  • Masako Matsumoto, recognized for her work on Aldnoah.Zero, will handle Character Design and serve as Chief Animation Director.
  • Atsushi Okuda, an animation director on Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch, and Chihiro Hanamura will be Food Animation Directors.
  • Ryuuichi Makino, an Action Animator known for Re:Creators, will be in charge of action sequences.
  • Ken Naitou, the Art Director of Saikyou no Ousama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru?, will oversee the art direction.
  • Mariko Shinohara, recognized for her work on Kanpekisugite Kawaige ga Nai to Konyaku Haki sareta Seijo wa Ringoku ni Urareru, will handle Color Design.
  • Ryousuke Tsuda, the Director of Photography for Tenki no Ko, will manage the photography.
  • Iguchi Mitsutaka, known for his work on Atri: My Dear Moments, will be the CG Director.
  • Shouta Migiyama, the editor for Overtake!, will be responsible for Editing.
  • Takako Sato will handle Culinary Supervision and Coordination.
  • Naoya Higuchi will serve as Culinary Science Supervisor.
  • Tomoki Kikuya, known for his music in Bocchi the Rock!, will compose the Music.
  • Jin Aketagawa, the Sound Director of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen, will be the Sound Director.
  • Masami Baba, who worked on sound effects for Fujimoto Tatsuki 17-26, and Ei Aoki of Fate/Zero will handle Sound Effects.

Ei Aoki is directing the anime at TROYCA, with Makoto Uezu handling the series composition.

Manga Origins

The original comedy gourmet manga, Tetsunabe no Jan!, was serialized in Shounen Champion from June 1995 to March 2000 and compiled into 27 volumes. Saijyo later created a sequel manga, Tetsunabe no Jan! R: Choujou Sakusen, which ran from November 2006 to December 2010 and was collected into 10 volumes.

Spinoff Series

The Tetsunabe no Jan! franchise also includes spinoff series.

  • A spin-off manga titled Tetsuhai no Jan! (Iron Tile Jan) began serialization in Kindai Mahjong magazine in August 2015 and ended in December 2017.
  • Another successor series, Tetsunabe no Jan!! 2nd (Iron Wok Jan!! 2nd), launched in January 2017 in Dragon Age.

English License

The original manga was previously licensed in English by ComicsOne from 2002 to 2005, and the license was later transferred to DrMaster.
