Haibara's Teenage New Game+ Anime Set to Premiere in April
The television anime adaptation of Kazuki Amamiya's light novel series, "Haibara's Teenage New Game+," is scheduled to debut in April. The official website has revealed additional cast members and details about the upcoming series.
New Cast Members Announced
Ryota Suzuki will voice Tatsuya Nagiura, a member of the basketball club and Natsuki's classmate. Tomohiro Ono will play Reita Shiratori, a member of the soccer club who has been friends with Uta and Tatsuya since middle school. These new cast additions will enrich the already established character dynamics within the anime.
Premiere and Advance Screening
The anime will air on TBS and BS11 in April. An advance screening event is planned for March 15 in Tokyo, where the first four episodes will be showcased. This event provides an early opportunity for fans to experience the anime.
Main Cast and Staff
Yuto Uemura will voice Natsuki Haibara, the protagonist. Kanon Takao will play Hikari Hoshimiya, Kanna Nakamura will voice Miori Motomiya, Aya Yamane will play Uta Sakura, and Sayumi Suzushiro will voice Yuino Nanase. This talented cast will bring the characters to life.
Misuzu Hoshino, known for directing "The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious" and "Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!," is directing the anime at Studio Comet. Keiichiro Ochi, who worked on "Summer Pockets" and "The Quintessential Quintuplets," is overseeing the series scripts. Hiromi Ono, of "Rinkai!" fame, is designing the characters. Sonosuke Takao, who contributed to "Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!" and "Mask Danshi: This Shouldn't Lead to Love," is composing the music at Nichion. The production team comprises experienced individuals in the anime industry.
Additional Staff
The art direction is handled by Seo Gu Lee, while Aiko Yamagami is responsible for color design. Shintaro Sakai is the director of photography, and Hideaki Murai is in charge of editing. Yayoi Tateishi is the sound director, with sound production managed by Jinnan Studio. These staff members contribute to the overall quality of the anime.
Story Synopsis
J-Novel Club publishes the novels in English and provides the following synopsis: Natsuki Haibara, a socially anxious college senior, is burdened by embarrassing memories and regrets from high school. He longs for a happy adolescence that never materialized. Unexpectedly, he finds himself seven years in the past, just one month before his first year of high school.
Haibara aims to avoid his past mistakes, climb the school's social ladder, and win over the girl of his dreams. However, he risks reliving three years of solitude as the most disliked student. To succeed, he'll need assistance, including a workout routine, online guides, a childhood friend, and strong determination. The story follows Haibara's journey as he gets a second chance at his teenage years.
Novel and Manga Information
Hobby Japan released the first volume of the novel series in December 2021. The series won the grand prize in the HJ Novel Award in 2020 and inspired a full-color vertical comic adaptation by Plus 81 and Misaomaru in June 2023. The novel series entered its final arc in the ninth volume on July 1. Hobby Japan digitally published the manga adaptation's third volume on February 2. The series has gained recognition through various adaptations and accolades.
