NieR:Automata Surpasses 10 Million Sales as Franchise Celebrates Anniversary

Square Enix and Platinum Games have announced a significant milestone for their acclaimed action role-playing game, NieR:Automata. The title has officially surpassed 10 million units in shipments and digital sales worldwide. This achievement coincides with the game's 9th anniversary this month.

Anniversary Celebration and Franchise Expansion

To commemorate this accomplishment, Square Enix released a video highlighting the various aspects of the NieR franchise. The video showcased the anime adaptation, stage plays, concerts, and collaboration events that have contributed to the series' popularity and expansion beyond the original game.

Hints of a Continuation

At the end of the celebratory video, a message appeared stating "NieR:Automata to be continued...", sparking speculation and excitement among fans about potential future projects related to the game. This could imply a sequel, spin-off, or further expansion of the existing storyline.

Release History and Platform Availability

NieR:Automata was initially released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in February 2017, followed by releases in North America and Europe in March 2017. The game was also made available on PC via Steam in March 2017, and later on Xbox One in June 2018, expanding its reach to a wider audience of gamers.

Anime Adaptation: NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a

The NieR:Automata universe further expanded with the television anime adaptation, titled NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a.
