New Anime Series "Living Life to the Fullest in a Tiny One-Tatami-Mat-Sized Room" Announces Additional Characters and Teaser Trailer

The staff behind the television anime adaptation of Kumako Hisama's "Ichijoma Mankitsu Gurashi!" manga has revealed four new characters and a teaser trailer. The series, titled "Living Life to the Fullest in a Tiny One-Tatami-Mat-Sized Room," is set to premiere in April 2026.

Meet the New Characters

The newly introduced characters will add more depth to the series narrative.

Michika Narumi is a first-year student attending a different high school. She works at a cat cafe in the same building as Hedgehog.

Majikarumomorin Goda is an 18-year-old who finds herself living at Hedgehog.

Gao is a streamer who runs the GaoChube channel.

Beruna is Gao's maid and secret spy.

Marica Belltree's VTuber Debut

Marica Belltree, one of the characters, has launched a YouTube channel as a VTuber. Her first livestream is scheduled for February 17. This event offers fans a chance to engage with the character.

Production Team and Staff

Toshinori Watanabe, known for his work on "Tokyo Ghoul:re" and "Mix: Meisei Story," will direct the anime series at PRA. Fumiya Uehara is responsible for designing the characters. Yayoi Tateishi, who worked on "Baby Steps" and "Happy Sugar Life," will direct the music, with MONACA composing it.

The team includes chief animation directors Fumiya Uehara, Minefumi Harada, Yuki Yabata, and Saori Sakiguchi. Fumiya Uehara and Michiko Otani are handling costume design. Shino Tanaka is the art designer. Minami Nakazato serves as the art director. Hiroko Umazaki is in charge of color design. Yumeta Company is creating the 2D works. Yasushi Kimura is the director of photography, and Keisuke Yanagi is handling the editing.

Story Overview

"Living Life to the Fullest in a Tiny One-Tatami-Mat-Sized Room" is a "somewhat sexy manga cafe comedy." The story revolves around Meiko Morita, who moves from the countryside to Tokyo. She transfers into an elite girls academy. In exchange for free tuition through volunteer work, she begins living and working at Hedgehog. Hedgehog is a manga cafe that also serves as a girls dormitory.

Meiko encounters a variety of unique characters. Rie Amamiya is a wealthy heiress who manages Hedgehog's dormitory and cafe. She is interested in yuri and Boys Love manga. Marika Suzuki is a popular streamer on "MuTube" under the name "Marica Belltree." Neo Nakano is a pro gamer who competes in world championships.

Manga Origins

The manga series debuted in Manga Time Kirara in December 2018. Its fourth compiled book volume was released on July 26. The series is published by Manga Time Kirara.
