Golden Kamuy Final Arc Welcomes New Voice

The Golden Kamuy anime adaptation of Satoru Noda's manga has announced a new addition to its cast for the ongoing final arc. Shizuka Ito will be lending her voice to the character of Hanaeko Kaneko.

Hanaeko Kaneko is depicted as the daughter of a wealthy family. She encounters Sugimoto during a matchmaking event. Her character will debut in the eighth episode of the final arc. This episode is scheduled to air on February 23.

Final Season Details

The final season of Golden Kamuy premiered earlier this year. It began its broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS11 channels on January 5. Simultaneously, the episodes became available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. For international viewers, Crunchyroll is offering an English dubbed version of the anime.

The production team for the final arc features many returning members. Shizutaka Sugahara is back as the chief director. He previously held this role in the fourth season, working with Brains Base. Noboru Takagi is also returning to oversee the scriptwriting process. Takumi Yamakawa is responsible for the character designs, continuing his work from previous seasons. Yukihiro Shibutani and Mao Miyake are the art directors for this final arc. Magic Capsule is handling the sound production. WOWOW is responsible for distribution.

Prologue Films

Before the premiere of the final season, two prologue films were released. These films, titled Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Kojo-hen, were shown in Japanese theaters. The first film was released on October 10, and the second on October 31.

Previous Season Delay

The fourth season of the anime experienced an interruption in its broadcast schedule. The season initially premiered in October 2022 and aired the first six episodes. However, the broadcast was then halted. The staff announced a delay for episodes 7-13 of the fourth season. This decision was made due to the passing of a main staff member on November 1. The announcement emphasized the indispensable nature of this individual to the production. After deliberation, the production committee and Brains Base decided to postpone the remaining episodes. The broadcast resumed in April 2023 with the first episode of the fourth season.

Anime's History

The first season of the Golden Kamuy anime premiered in April 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. Funimation also streamed the series, providing an English dub. The second season premiered in October 2018. Crunchyroll continued to stream the series as it aired. Funimation began streaming an English dub later that month. The third season premiered in October 2020. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the anime with subtitles and a dub, respectively.

Manga Information

Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy manga was launched in Young Jump magazine in 2014. The series concluded in April 2022. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English.

Spin-off Novel and Anime

A spin-off novel titled Golden Kamuy: Tsurumi Tokushiro no Shukugan has been released. This novel by Amon Ibuko comes with a limited edition Blu-ray Disc bundle. The Blu-ray Disc features the anime adaptation of the manga chapter "Inazuma Goto to Mamushi no O-Gin." It also includes the mini episode "Shimaenaga." The total runtime of the anime content on the Blu-ray Disc is approximately 30 minutes. The Blu-ray Disc shipped in Japan on October 17.
