Anime fans, mark your calendars for an exciting double feature coming your way soon! TMS Entertainment has announced fantastic news for followers of both the legendary master thief and the brilliant pint-sized detective. Prepare for a thrilling crossover film and a fresh batch of mystery-solving adventures to stream online.
Crossover Film Streams Free on YouTube
The highly anticipated cinematic clash, Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie, is set to stream for free on YouTube starting October 24. This is a limited-time opportunity to catch the English-dubbed version of the film on TMS Entertainment's official YouTube channel. For those who enjoy a blend of cunning heists and intricate deductions, this is an event you will not want to miss.
The film plunges viewers into a high-stakes diamond robbery. Kid the Phantom Thief, usually known for his distinct style, takes an unexpected turn, using a real gun and a yakatabune houseboat for his escape. As Detective Conan pursues the thief, his skateboard is dramatically split by none other than Goemon Ishikawa XIII, leading Conan to the startling realization that the Kid he is chasing is actually Lupin the 3rd in disguise! This ingenious plot promises a rollercoaster of action and suspense.
Discotek previously released the film on Blu-ray Disc, featuring an English dub that combines the classic voice cast for the master thief and the newer theatrical movie cast for Detective Conan, offering a familiar yet fresh auditory experience for fans. The crossover film originally premiered in Japanese theaters in December 2013, following a successful television special crossover that aired in 2009, also released on home video with an English dub by Discotek.
More Detective Conan Episodes Arrive on Netflix
The excitement continues for fans of the iconic boy detective as Netflix prepares to expand its collection. The fourth specially curated selection of episodes for the Detective Conan anime will begin streaming on November 1. This new release promises to add even more layers to the ongoing saga of mysteries and investigations.
This latest drop follows several successful curated episode selections that have delighted fans. TMS began streaming the first specially curated selection of Detective Conan episodes, titled "Conan vs. The Black Organization," in July 2025 on both Netflix and Crunchyroll, with more episodes added in August 2025. This collection notably included episodes with the titular antagonists that had never before been available for audiences in the U.S.
The journey continued with "Rivals of the Great Detective," the second curated collection, which started streaming in November 2025 and saw additional episodes in January 2026. The third selection, "FBI Intervention," premiered on May 1, 2026, and was further expanded with more episodes on August 1, 2026. These collections have featured episodes streaming in both Japanese and with a new English dub produced by Studio Nano, distinct from previous dubs, providing a fresh take for long-time viewers and newcomers alike.
The Enduring Legacy of Detective Conan
The world of Detective Conan, or Case Closed as it is known in some English releases, has captivated audiences for decades. Gōshō Aoyama launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine in 1994, spawning a television anime series that has been continuously running since January 1996, alongside a successful anime film series. Viz Media publishes the manga, maintaining consistency by using English names from the original Funimation dub where applicable, and original Japanese names otherwise.
At its core, the series centers on the brilliant high school detective Shinichi Kudo, whose body is mysteriously shrunk after being poisoned. Adopting the alias Conan Edogawa, he continues to solve complex mysteries, often working alongside the unsuspecting detective Kogoro Mori and his daughter Ran. His unique predicament and sharp intellect make every case a compelling watch.
Whether you are a devoted fan of the master thief, a seasoned follower of the great detective, or simply looking for some thrilling anime entertainment, these upcoming streaming events offer something for everyone. Get ready to dive into the action and unravel some mysteries!
