From Web Novel to Screen: The Origin Story
Magical Explorer began as a web novel by Iris on Shousetsuka ni Narou in February 2018. Kadokawa started publishing the light novel in November 2019 with illustrations by Noboru Kannatsuki (Goblin Slayer). The 13th volume released on April 1.
Yukari Higa (Zero no Tsukaima Chevalier) launched a manga adaptation on Young Ace UP in August 2020, with its third volume out on January 8.
Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga in English in December 2021. The second manga volume ships January 2025, and the 12th light novel volume is set for November 10.
