Suikoden Anime Adaptation Premieres in October with New Cast Additions

The official website for Suikoden: The Anime, an adaptation of Konami's Suikoden II game, recently released its first full promotional video. Alongside the video release, the website unveiled the anime's anticipated television premiere date in October and revealed several new cast members joining the project.

New Cast Members Announced

The anime adaptation boasts a talented ensemble of voice actors. Taku Yashiro will voice the character Luca Blight. Chika Anzai will lend her voice to Jillia Blight. Akihiro Mine will portray Rowd. Tsukino Chikasada will voice Pilika. Ayumu Murase will take on the role of Luc. Takeo Otsuka is set to voice Shu. Yoshino Aoyama will bring Apple to life. Masato Niwa will play Mukumuku.

Previously Announced Cast

The previously announced cast includes Toshiki Kumagai as Riliu. Shimba Tsuchiya will voice Jowy. Ayumi Hinohara will portray Nanami. Katsuyuki Konishi will bring Viktor to life. Yuichi Nakamura will play Flik.

Production Details

Yuzo Sato is directing the anime at KONAMI animation, the game studio's anime studio. Ryo Hino, from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan anime and music production department, serves as the producer and production manager. Michihiro Tsuchiya is overseeing the series scripts. Fumi Ishikawa from Konami Digital Entertainment is credited as the game character designer. Arata Suzuki from Konami Digital Entertainment is credited for the original drafts of the anime character designs. Ryo Yamauchi is the anime character designer. Yoshikazu Iwanami is the sound director. Koji Nakamura is composing the music.

About Suikoden II

Konami describes the story of Suikoden II as follows: "Our story's hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown. A few months earlier, a truth agreement was signed between the two forces, both of which were happy to see an end to the fighting. However, hidden under the momentary peace the fires of a new war continued to smolder…"

HD Remaster and Other Projects

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars, the HD remastered release of Konami's classic role-playing games Suikoden and Suikoden II, launched for various platforms earlier this year. Konami is also developing the new mobile and PC game Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap, and a stage play adaptation of Suikoden I that will run in December.
