Naniwa Danshi Performs "Be My Baby"
The newly released trailer provides an exclusive first listen to the film's official theme song. Titled "Be My Baby", the track is performed by the popular idol group Naniwa Danshi. Their contribution promises to bring a vibrant musical element to the film's narrative.
Leading Roles and New Additions
The central roles in the film are filled by a talented group of actors. Hikaru Takahashi takes on the role of Satsuki Shinohara. Naniwa Danshi member Kyōhei Takahashi portrays Yamaguchi. Yо̄ji Iwase is cast as Rion Ishizaki, completing the primary trio.
The film's ensemble cast has also expanded with several new members. Juri Kōsaka plays Honoka Waku, who is Satsuki's friend. Amane Uehara joins as Kotone Suzuki. Hinami Mori is cast as Erii Morimiya, a classmate. Kanade Imahori portrays Shio Kimura. Leo Nagaoka takes on the role of Aki Nonaka. Jōtarō is cast as Ichi Maezawa, who serves as the class president. Moka Otsuka appears as Ichika Teshigahara. Shigehiro Yamaguchi will play the homeroom teacher. Shihō Harumi is cast as Yamaguchi's grandfather, and Eri Fuse rounds out the family roles as Yamaguchi's grandmother.

The Original Story Overview
Kodansha USA Publishing offers an English digital release of the manga, providing insight into its plot. The story centers on Satsuki Shinohara, a shy student whose plans for a grand high school debut are nearly disrupted by an incident on a train. She is rescued by Yamaguchi-kun, a student in her class who has a reputation as a "gangster." Despite the negative perceptions of other students, Satsuki is determined to approach him. Yamaguchi-kun consistently tries to evade her attempts. Undeterred by challenges, Satsuki is intent on demonstrating that Yamaguchi-kun possesses qualities far beyond what he is commonly believed to be.
Manga's Journey and Milestones
Yuu Saiki first launched the Yamaguchi-kun Isn't So Bad manga in Bessatsu Friend in 2019. The manga experienced a hiatus in June 2022, attributed to the author giving birth. It subsequently resumed publication in July 2023. Following its return, the manga adopted a bi-monthly publishing schedule for certain periods in 2023 and extending into 2024.
Kodansha released the manga's 12th compiled book volume on December 12. The series has achieved significant popularity, with more than 2.1 million copies currently in circulation across Japan. Kodansha USA Publishing made the 11th volume available to English readers on October 21.
