This track is performed by Multidimensional Control Mechanism YODAKA, the solo project of Naohiro Hayashi, a former member of FISHLIFE. The television broadcast schedule for Killed Again, Mr. Detective? has been set. The anime will debut on April 2, airing on the TBS channel at 25:58 JST. This broadcast time translates to the early hours of April 3 at 1:58 a.m. JST. Following its initial airing, the series will also be shown on BS11, with episodes scheduled for April 3 at 11:30 p.m. JST.

A roster of voice actors has been announced to portray the characters of Killed Again, Mr. Detective?. Rikuya Yasuda is cast as Sakuya Outsuki, the central figure. Shion Wakayama provides the voice for Lilithea, the protagonist’s assistant. Yoshino Aoyama plays Yuriu Haigamine, and Katsuyuki Konishi is the voice of Kaoruta Sozorogi. Rie Kugimiya voices Shardina, and Yūki Takada performs the voices for both Fido and Belka.

Takashi Naoya directs the series, with his previous works including Übel Blatt and Am I Actually the Strongest?. Lifenfilms is the animation studio for the project. Mio Inoue, known for her contributions to series like My Awkward Senpai and Slow Start, is responsible for the series scripts. Akiko Kumada, who worked on character designs for Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather, is designing the characters. Shūhei Mutsuki is composing the music for the series.

The Unique Premise Unveiled

The plot of Killed Again, Mr. Detective? focuses on Sakuya Outsuki, the son of a legendary detective. He works to follow his father's path with his assistant, Lilithea. Sakuya has a unique characteristic: he becomes a victim in the cases he investigates. The story details Sakuya’s mission to infiltrate a luxury cruise ship, where he is killed. After each death, he reawakens with Lilithea by his side, ready to investigate the mystery of his recurring fate.

The Literary Origins

The anime adapts the light novel series Killed Again, Mr. Detective?, written by Teniwoha and illustrated by Riichu. Kadokawa launched the novels, with the first volume released in August 2021. The sixth volume shipped on November 25. The light novels form the narrative foundation for the animated series.

Manga Adaptation's Journey

An adaptation of the novels into manga form was created by Inaba. This manga began serialization on Kadokawa's Dra Dra Flat manga site in July 2022. The adaptation concluded with its second compiled book volume, which shipped in March 2024. Yen Press publishes the English version, releasing the first volume on August 26 and the second and final volume on January 20.
