Ichijōma Mankitsu Gurashi! Anime Reveals Theme Songs and April Premiere

The television anime adaptation of Kumako Hisama's manga, Ichijōma Mankitsu Gurashi! (Living Life to the Fullest in a Tiny One-Tatami-Mat-Sized Room), has released its main promotional video, main visual, and a new character visual. These updates confirm the anime's April 11 premiere and preview its theme songs.

Theme Song Artists Announced

The idol group Sophià la Mode will perform the opening theme song, titled "Ciao Ciao." For the ending theme, BanG Dream!'s Mugendai Mewtype band will deliver "Yawayawa Nerd Chō FreQuency." Both songs were featured in the newly released promotional video.

Broadcast Schedule and Platforms

Ichijōma Mankitsu Gurashi! is scheduled to premiere on April 11 at 26:00 (effectively April 12 at 2:00 a.m.). It will air as part of the "Animazing!!!" programming block on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and 22 other affiliated channels. Additionally, the anime will be broadcast on BS NTV.

New Character Visual and Story Overview

A new character visual was unveiled, showcasing Miori Morita, who is depicted as Meiko's younger sister. The anime is described as a "somewhat sexy manga café comedy." Its narrative centers on Meiko Morita, who moves from the countryside to Tokyo to attend an elite girls' academy. She earns free tuition by undertaking volunteer work, which involves living and working at Hedgehog, a unique establishment functioning as both a manga café and a girls' dormitory.

Key Characters Introduced

At Hedgehog, Meiko encounters a variety of distinctive individuals. Rie Amamiya is the wealthy heiress managing Hedgehog as both dormitory keeper and café manager, with a notable interest in yuri and boys-love manga. Marika Suzuki is a popular streamer on "MuTube," known by her alias "Marica Belltree." Neo Nakano is a professional gamer who competes in world championships.

Further characters include Michika Narumi, a first-year high school student who works at a cat café in the same building as Hedgehog. Majikarumomorin Gōda, an 18-year-old, also resides at the dormitory. Gao operates the "GaoChube" channel as a streamer, accompanied by Beruna, who acts as Gao's maid and secret spy.

Production Team Details

Toshinori Watanabe, known for directing Tokyo Ghoul:re and Mix: Meisei Story, is directing the series at PRA. Fumiya Uehara is responsible for character designs. Yayoi Tateishi, with credits on Baby Steps and Happy Sugar Life, directs the music, while MONACA (Tenkai Knights, Love Tyrant) composes the music.

Additional Staff

The team also includes Chief Animation Directors Fumiya Uehara, Minefumi Harada, Yūki Yabata, and Saori Sakiguchi. Costume Design is handled by Fumiya Uehara and Michiko Ōtani. Shino Tanaka is the art designer, and Minami Nakazato serves as art director. Hiroko Umazaki is the color key artist. Yumeta Company manages 2D Works. Yasushi Kimura is the compositing director of photography, and Keisuke Yanagi is the editor.

Manga Publication Status

Kumako Hisama's Ichijōma Mankitsu Gurashi! manga debuted in Manga Time Kirara in December 2018. Its fourth compiled book volume was released on July 26, with the fifth volume scheduled to ship on May 27.
