"Eren the Southpaw" Anime Reveals Opening and Ending Theme Songs in New Promotional Video

The anime adaptation of Kappi and nifuni's "Eren the Southpaw" manga has released its main promotional video, offering a glimpse into the series and its musical landscape. The video showcases the opening theme song, "Funkin' Beautiful feat. ZORN," performed by ALI, and the ending theme song, "New Walk," by Ima Murasaki.

Manga Continues with New Serialization

Adding to the excitement surrounding the anime, Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ website has launched a new serialization of the manga. This new story, set in 2026, introduces a fresh "competition" within the Meguro Advertising Agency. Fans can also look forward to the release of the manga's 25th compiled book volume on May 1.

Anime Premiere and Theater Screening

Mark your calendars for the anime's television premiere on TV Tokyo on April 7. Ahead of the broadcast, the first three episodes of the series will be screened in a limited one-week theatrical event in Japan starting on March 27.

Story Synopsis

Distribution company GAGA provides a synopsis of the story: As high school students contemplate their futures, Koichi Asakura, aspiring to become a designer, encounters graffiti by Ellen Yamagishi, a left-handed high school student whose talents have been suppressed. Through their shared passion for drawing, Koichi pursues design, while Ellen explores painting.

Production Team

Toshimasa Suzuki is directing the anime at Production I.G and Signal.MD. Taku Kishimoto is handling series scripts, and Takayuki Goto is the animation character designer. Yuka Fukuchi and Akane Tamai are designing the characters and serving as chief animation directors.

Manga Background

Kappi debuted the manga on the cakes web manga service in March 2016. A remake with art by nifuni launched on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service in October 2017. The manga concluded in October 2022, with an extra chapter in December. Shueisha published the manga's 23rd and 24th compiled book volumes that December.

Live-Action Adaptation

"Eren the Southpaw" previously inspired a live-action series in October 2019.
