Akame ga Kill! Artist Tetsuya Tashiro Launches New Manga

New Manga Series "Boku no Kanojo wa Kessen Heiki" to Launch

Manga enthusiasts can anticipate a new series from creator Tetsuya Tashiro. Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine announced the upcoming launch of "Boku no Kanojo wa Kessen Heiki" in its September issue, scheduled for release on August 4. This serialization follows a one-shot manga with the same title, previously published by Tashiro in Shueisha's Jump SQ. RISE magazine in July 2023.

Tetsuya Tashiro's Previous Works

Tetsuya Tashiro is recognized for his collaboration with Takahiro on the manga "Akame ga KILL!" The series concluded in December 2016 after launching in Monthly Gangan Joker in 2010. Square Enix compiled the manga into 15 volumes. "Akame ga KILL!" inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in Japan in July 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the anime during its original broadcast, and Sentai Filmworks acquired the rights for Blu-ray Disc and DVD release. The anime also aired on Adult Swim's Toonami block starting in August 2015.

Slasher Maidens Current Status

Tashiro's other manga series, "Slasher Maidens," has been serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine since April 2018. The series entered its "final battle" with the release of its 11th volume in November 2023. Square Enix published the 14th volume in August 2025, with the 15th volume slated for release on March 21. Yen Press is publishing "Slasher Maidens" in English, having released the 13th volume on February 24.
