Broadcast Details
The anime series is set to premiere on April 10, airing for two consecutive cours. Fans can tune in at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by broadcasts on Kansai TV and BS NTV. This double-cour commitment suggests a deep dive into the source material, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the complex narrative.
New Cast Members Announced
The announcement included the addition of several talented voice actors to the project. Yuuko Kaida, known for her work in "Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai," will be voicing Ryoko Kiryu. Shiro Fujieda will be portrayed by Shinshuu Fuji, recognized for their role in "The Fable." Misa Watanabe, a veteran voice actress from "World Trigger," will lend her voice to Maki Saionji. Soichiro Mishima will be brought to life by Yuuya Uchida, who recently starred in "Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon 2nd Season." Lastly, Robert Doi will be voiced by Jin Urayama, known for their work in "Summertime Render."
Production Team
The anime is being helmed by Kenji Itoso, who previously directed "Santa Company," at Satelight. Yuu Mitsuru, who contributed to the script of "Sousei no Aquarion: Myth of Emotions," is handling the series composition and scriptwriting. Soudai Suwa, known for their character designs in "Sentouin, Haken shimasu!", is responsible for bringing the characters to life visually. The music is being composed by Eishi Segawa, who has also worked on "Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai."
Manga Background
"The Drops of God" is a gourmet drama manga series created by Tadashi Agi and illustrated by Shuu Okimoto. It was originally serialized in Weekly Morning from November 2004 to June 2014. Following the success of the original series, the duo continued the story with a sequel manga titled "Mariage: Kami no Shizuku Saishuushou (Drops of God: Mariage)," which ran in the same magazine from May 2015 to October 2020. Most recently, they created "Kami no Shizuku: Deuxième," which was serialized from September 2023 to April 2024.
English Release History
Vertical initially licensed the manga for English publication in January 2011. They released the first eight volumes in 2-in-1 omnibus editions. The fifth and final omnibus, subtitled "New World," compiled the 22nd and 23rd volumes in September 2012, at the request of the authors. Kodansha USA began redistributing the manga digitally on ComiXology and Kindle in October 2019. A physical re-release is planned to begin this year, with the second volume already available and the third volume scheduled for release soon.
