Hamster Corporation Launches Console Archives Series With Cool Boarders, Ninja Gaiden II, Doraemon Games

New "Console Archives" Series Announced for Switch 2 and PS5

Hamster Corporation has unveiled a new initiative called "Console Archives," aiming to bring classic console games to modern platforms. This series complements their existing "Arcade Archives," which focuses on arcade titles. The announcement was made during the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.

Initial Releases: Cool Boarders and Ninja Gaiden II

The first two games in the Console Archives lineup are Cool Boarders, originally released for the PlayStation in 1996, and Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, an NES title from 1990. Both games were launched on the same day as the announcement for the Nintendo Switch 2.

PlayStation 5 Release Date

For PlayStation fans, Hamster Corporation has confirmed that Cool Boarders and Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos will also be released on the PlayStation 5. The release date for the PS5 versions is set for February 14.

Future Titles in the Console Archives

Hamster Corporation has revealed some of the upcoming games planned for the Console Archives series. These include Doraemon, originally released for the Famicom in 1986 and never released in the West. Also planned is Sonic Wings Special, a title initially launched in 1996 for the Sega Saturn and PlayStation but only in Japan.

Teaser for More Classic Series

The announcement trailer included teasers for games from the Nobunaga's Ambition and Monster Rancher/Monster Farm series, suggesting more classic titles will be added to the Console Archives in the future.

Arcade Archives 2: Rave Racer Coming Soon

In addition to the Console Archives news, Hamster Corporation announced that Arcade Archives 2: Rave Racer will be launching on February 26. This title will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
