Glacier Bay Books Reveals More Licenses; Integration of Star Fruit Books' Publishing Line, Inventory

Glacier Bay Books Announces New Licenses and Acquisition of Star Fruit Books
Glacier Bay Books has announced several exciting updates, including new licenses, progress on Kickstarter projects, and the acquisition of Star Fruit Books. The announcements were made via the company's X/Twitter account on Friday, providing fans with a glimpse into the publisher's future plans.
Acquisition of Star Fruit Books
A significant development is Glacier Bay Books' acquisition of Star Fruit Books' publishing line and inventory. This move follows the passing of Star Fruit Books' founder, Matt Haasch, in September. Glacier Bay Books is working with Haasch's mother and the Star Fruit Books team to ensure the continuation of their publishing work, honoring his wishes. All existing Star Fruit Books licenses and publications will transfer to Glacier Bay Books, and they will also fulfill all outstanding direct orders. The transition is still in progress, with Glacier Bay Books integrating Star Fruit Books' release schedule into their own.
New Licenses: Chome and Naoto Yamakawa
Glacier Bay Books has also announced the licensing of two new short story collections: Chome's "Shitsugaikishitsu" and Naoto Yamakawa's "Basement Attic." The company will reveal the English cover, title, and further details for "Shitsugaikishitsu" at a later date. This collection features four magical realist short stories exploring interconnected lives and a hidden world. "Basement Attic" promises a collection of short stories filled with humor, charm, and subtle cynicism.
Kickstarter Update
The publisher provided an update on their Kickstarter releases, acknowledging that their release plan is behind schedule. However, progress is being made, with "Baku Chan," "Box Garden Beetle," and "Star Clock Liddell 1-3" currently in printing. For other works like "True Blue Never Fades," "Universe from the Balcony," and "The Cursed Body," pre-press is nearing completion, and the books will be sent to press soon.
New Website and Retailer Partnerships
To strengthen retailer partnerships and streamline distribution channels, Glacier Bay Books has developed a new website. They plan to open a limited beta to select retailers, improving their services and accessibility.
