PokéPark Kanto Opens Its Doors: A Pokémon Paradise in Tokyo

The world of Pokémon has expanded once again with the grand opening of PokéPark Kanto, the first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction. Located within Tokyo's Yomiuriland amusement park, PokéPark Kanto welcomed its first visitors on February 5th, offering a unique and immersive experience for Pokémon fans of all ages.

A Pokémon Wonderland

Spanning approximately 26,000 square meters (6.4 acres), PokéPark Kanto is divided into two distinct areas: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town. Pokémon Forest stretches for about 500 meters (1,640 feet) and features diverse terrains populated with a variety of Pokémon. Sedge Town, on the other hand, offers a more urban setting with attractions such as a Pokémon Center, PokéMart, Sedge Gym, the Primarina Fountain, and a Pokémon parade.

Encountering Over 600 Pokémon

Despite its name referencing the Kanto region from the original Pokémon Red/Blue/Green games, PokéPark Kanto showcases Pokémon from multiple regions, boasting a total of over 600 creatures. Visitors can expect to encounter their favorite Pokémon throughout the park, creating unforgettable photo opportunities and memorable moments.

Attractions and Entertainment

PokéPark Kanto offers a wide array of attractions and entertainment options. One notable attraction is a recreation of a Pokémon Center, mirroring the in-game location where players can heal their Pokémon. Here, fans can experience the familiar scene of Nurse Joy tending to their beloved creatures.

In addition to the Pokémon Center, the park features various rides, live shows, and merchandise stands. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon through interactive experiences and purchase exclusive PokéPark Kanto merchandise to commemorate their visit.

Culinary Delights

No theme park experience is complete without indulging in themed food and beverages. PokéPark Kanto offers a delectable selection of food items inspired by the world of Pokémon. From Pokémon-shaped snacks to character-themed meals, visitors can satisfy their appetites while enjoying the immersive atmosphere of the park.

A Long-Awaited Opening

PokéPark Kanto's opening marks the culmination of years of anticipation. The park was initially announced in July 2025, generating excitement among Pokémon fans worldwide. Now, visitors can finally step into the world of Pokémon and experience the magic firsthand.

Getting There

PokéPark Kanto is located within Tokyo's Yomiuriland amusement park, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. Visitors can reach Yomiuriland via public transportation, including train and bus services.
