A Useless Disciplinary Committee and a Short Skirt: Anime Adaptation Coming in 2026

The popular school romantic comedy manga, "Ponkotsu Fuuki Iin to Skirt-take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi," also known as "The Story of a Useless Disciplinary Committee Member and a High School Girl with an Inappropriate Skirt Length," is officially receiving a television anime adaptation slated for release in April 2026. The announcement came directly from the anime's official website, revealing key details about the cast, staff, and a first look at the series.

Cast Announcement

Leading the cast are Junya Enoki, known for his role in "Kanojo mo Kanojo," and Riko Akechi, recognized for her work in "Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsuujinai." Enoki will voice the character of Tougo Sakuradaimon, while Akechi will portray Poemu Kohinata, bringing the central duo of the story to life.

Production Staff

The anime adaptation boasts a talented team of creators. Masahiro Yokotani, known for "Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!," will handle the series composition and script. Takahito Oonishi ("Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon") and Tomoko Konparu ("Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi") are also contributing to the script, adding their expertise to the project.

You Himuro, an animation director from "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru," will serve as the chief animation director, ensuring the visual consistency and quality of the animation. The detailed aspects of costume and prop design, along with 2D design, are entrusted to Haruya Sasaki ("Grand Blue" in-between animation), Aiko Yamaguchi ("Puniru wa Kawaii Slime" key animation), and Asako Taisei ("Dungeon Meshi" key animation).

The 3DCG direction will be led by Tomohiko Suga ("Undead Girl Murder Farce"), while Akira Hashigami ("Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san") will be responsible for the color design. The art direction is in the hands of Risa Wakabayashi ("Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san"), with Mikiya Hirayoshi ("Migi to Dali") handling the art design.

Naoyuki Katou ("Grand Blue Season 2") will serve as the director of photography, and Masaki Utsunomiya ("Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita.") will be the editor. Saber Links is in charge of sound production, with Masahiro Takata ("Nageki no Bourei wa Intai shitai") as the sound director.

Music Production

The music for the anime is under the direction of Takuya Oohama ("Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle") as the music producer and Satoshi Houno ("Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de" music composer) as the music director. The musical score will be composed by Kanki Iwamoto ("Unnamed Memory" recording), Hisashi Tenkyuu ("Summer Pockets" ending theme arrangement), Takashi Toriyama, and Yoshiaki Kitazume ("Fuguushoku "Kanteishi" ga Jitsu wa Saikyou Datta" music producer), with music production handled by AQUA ARIS.

Production Studio

Daiji Iwanaga ("Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru" chief director) is helming the television anime at Zero-G. You Himuro is also designing the characters, further emphasizing the studio's commitment to capturing the essence of the original manga.

Manga Origins

Takuma Yokota began serializing the manga in Shounen Sirius in March 2019. Kodansha published the 19th volume on December 9, indicating the ongoing popularity and success of the source material. The manga's premise revolves around the comedic interactions between a seemingly ineffective disciplinary committee member and a high school girl known for her arguably inappropriate skirt length, setting the stage for a lighthearted and engaging anime adaptation.
