Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Gets Major Update with Ares & Fabled Seed DLC

Level 5 has announced the second free major update for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, titled the Ares & Fabled Seed DLC, in a new trailer released on Friday. The update is scheduled to launch on Wednesday, Japan time.

Fabled Rarity and Overburst Feature

This update introduces a significant addition to the game: the Fabled rarity for all characters. Along with this, the Overburst feature will be implemented, offering new gameplay mechanics. Players will also receive a Fabled Seed, allowing them to upgrade any character to the Fabled rarity.

Game Launch and History

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road was released on November 14 (November 13 in the West) for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The game's development has been a long journey, with multiple delays and name changes.

Originally, the game was planned for a summer 2018 release as Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tenbin for PS4, Switch, iOS, and Android. The name was later changed to Inazuma Eleven: Eiyū-tachi no Great Road. Due to several delays, the title was eventually changed again to Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road.

Story and Characters

The game's story revolves around Unmei Sasanami, a young boy who desires a world without soccer. He eventually meets Haru Endo, a soccer expert. Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road features over 4,500 characters from the entire Inazuma Eleven series.

Manga Adaptation

Tenya Yabuno launched a manga adaptation of Inazuma Eleven in Shogakukan's Monthly CoroCoro Comic on November 14, coinciding with the game's release.

Inazuma Eleven RE Remake

Level 5 also announced a remake of the first Inazuma Eleven game, titled Inazuma Eleven RE, which is scheduled for release in 2026 for Switch, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam. This remake aims to bring the original story to modern platforms with updated graphics and gameplay.

Tenya Yabuno's Previous Work

Tenya Yabuno previously created the Inazuma Eleven manga series that was serialized in Monthly CoroCoro Comic from 2008 to 2011. His involvement in the manga adaptation of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road continues his association with the franchise.
