Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 English Dub Release on Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll has announced the English dub for the second season of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" will begin streaming this Friday. Fans of the anime adaptation of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's manga can look forward to the return of familiar voices.

Returning Cast and Crew

The English dub cast features several returning members. Mallorie Rodak will once again voice Frieren, Jill Harris will reprise her role as Fern, and Jordan Dash Cruz will return as Stark. Christopher Guerrero will voice Eisen, Clifford Chapin will be Himmel, and Jason Douglas will be Heiter.

Other returning cast members include Bradley Gareth as Dach, Trina Nishimura as Ehre, Brian Mathis as Hero of the South, Jennifer Green as Sword Demon, Alejandro Saab as Scharf, Ricco Fajardo as Wirbel, and Doug Jackson as Coachman. Jad Saxton is directing the dub, with Susie Nixon producing. Macy Anne Johnson is adapting the script, Matt Grounds is the mixer, and Seth Aulds is the engineer.

Season 2 Details

The second season premiered on January 16. Crunchyroll is streaming the second season worldwide outside of Asia, but including India and the Indian subcontinent. Tomoya Kitagawa, who directed episodes 2, 8, and 25 of the first season, is now the director for the second season. Keiichiro Saito, the first season director, is now credited for director support.

Daiki Harashina, who directed the third episode of the first season, is now the assistant director. Tomohiro Suzuki returns for series composition. Takasemaru, Keisuke Kojima, and Yuri Fujinaka are now the character designers for the anime, replacing Reiko Nagasawa. Seiko Yoshioka returns for concept art. Evan Call returns to compose the soundtrack. Madhouse is animating the second season.

Additional Staff

Other staff members include Hiroyuki Kobashi, Runa Harano, Izumi Seguchi, and Daiki Harashina for design works. Sawako Takagi is the art director, and Shinji Sugiyama is responsible for background art. Harue Ono is the color designer. Kana Imagaki is the 3DCG director, and Akane Fushihara is the compositing director of photography. Kashiko Kimura is the editor, and Shoji Hata is the sound director.

Theme Songs

Mrs. Green Apple performs the new opening theme song "lulu." milet performs the new ending theme song "The Story of Us," which was written specifically for the anime. milet also performed the first season's ending theme song.

First Season Recap

The first season premiered with a two-hour special in September 2023 and ran for two consecutive cours until March 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired, and it also streamed an English dub.

Manga Details

Viz Media has licensed the manga, which tells the story of Frieren, an elf mage, who is learning about life after the adventure is over. Frieren and her fellow adventurers defeated the Demon King, but Frieren will outlive her former party. The story explores how she comes to understand the meaning of life for the people around her.

Decades after their victory, the funeral of one of her friends confronts Frieren with her immortality. Frieren sets out to fulfill the last wishes of her comrades and begins a new adventure.

Yamada and Abe launched the ongoing manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020. The series returned from a hiatus on July 23. The manga is currently on an indefinite hiatus that started on October 22. The manga's 15th compiled book volume shipped on December 18.

The manga has exceeded 30 million copies in circulation worldwide.
