Story Synopsis

The film is set in Tsukuyomi, a virtual realm where hopes and dreams converge. The story centers around Iroha Sakayori, a 17-year-old high school student in Tokyo who juggles part-time work and academics. She finds solace in watching Yachiyo Runami, a popular streamer and administrator of Tsukuyomi.

Iroha frequents Tsukuyomi, a space where people can explore different lives and pursue their creativity. She supports Yachiyo and plays battle games to earn extra money. One day, Iroha discovers a telephone pole emitting iridescent light and finds an adorable baby emerging from it.

Unable to abandon the infant, Iroha takes her home, watching her rapidly grow into a girl her own age. This girl is Kaguya, who develops a self-indulgent personality. At Kaguya's request, Iroha helps her start streaming in Tsukuyomi. As producer and songwriter, Iroha collaborates with Kaguya, the streamer and singer, leading them to grow closer. Unbeknownst to them, ominous forces are waiting to take Kaguya back to the moon. The film presents a new take on the classic tale of Princess Kaguya.
