13 Ghibli Songs Inspire Live-Action Short Series

Nostalgic Ghibli Tribute: A Tale Told in 8mm Film
Victor Entertainment has announced an intriguing project: a series of short, live-action videos accompanying their upcoming Studio Ghibli tribute album, Singing Ghibli 2. The series, titled Fu and Nagi's Story, uses 8mm film to depict the encounter and eventual parting of two girls.
The Story Unfolds
The short films center around Nagi, an ordinary girl, and Fu, a mysterious one. Directed by Masafumi Yoshikawa, the series stars Saara Hazuki, a member of the Takane no Nadeshiko idol group, as Nagi. Actor Ririka Atsumi plays the role of Fu, while Eisaku Katsumata appears as a salesperson.
A Non-Linear Narrative
The 13 shorts will be released in a random order, encouraging viewers to piece together the narrative through intuition and observation. This non-sequential storytelling approach adds an element of mystery and encourages engagement with the visual and musical elements.
