A New Cosmic Horror Has Landed: Nightmare of Oveja Negra Debuts!
Get ready to embark on a chilling journey into the depths of space, because a brand new science fiction horror manga, Nightmare of Oveja Negra, has just made its highly anticipated debut! Launched simultaneously on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ and MANGA Plus platforms on Tuesday, this series promises to deliver cosmic frights and thrilling suspense to manga fans worldwide.
Authored by the talented Shota Kono, Nightmare of Oveja Negra is already generating significant buzz, not least because it clinched the prestigious grand prize at the Shonen Jump+ Rensai Grand Prix 2025. This accolade alone speaks volumes about the quality and potential of this exciting new series, setting high expectations for its narrative and art.
Unveiling the Plot: Debt, Distress, and Derelict Horrors
The story plunges us into the daily struggles of the spacecraft Oveja Negra, a vessel dedicated to the less glamorous task of collecting and selling space junk. Captain Hank, the ship's beleaguered leader, is drowning in debt, making every salvage mission crucial. The stakes are raised when one of his crew members, Yuki, intercepts a mysterious distress signal from an old, abandoned mining plant.
Driven by the desperate need for resources, Captain Hank and his crew decide to investigate. What they hope to find is valuable salvage, but what they discover inside the derelict plant is far more sinister. As MANGA Plus describes, "something abnormal is happening there…" This chilling premise promises a classic sci-fi horror setup, blending the isolation of deep space with the claustrophobia of a confined, haunted environment. Readers can expect a terrifying exploration of the unknown, where the pursuit of wealth might lead to an encounter with something truly monstrous.
