Pokémon Company's Generous Contribution
The Pokémon Company, known for its beloved characters, made a substantial contribution following the July 28 Kumamoto earthquake. The company donated 100 million yen (about 630,000 US dollars). These funds are directed to Kumamoto Prefecture, the Japanese Red Cross Society, and other organizations aiding earthquake relief. This act underscores corporate social responsibility. YOSHIKI Extends Support Globally

Extending his humanitarian reach, YOSHIKI then gave 100,000 euros (roughly 120,000 US dollars) to the French Red Cross and Spanish Red Cross. The Kumamoto Earthquake Devastation
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture on July 28 around 4:27 p.m., causing widespread devastation. The quake tragically claimed about 38 lives and disrupted services for thousands. Approximately 48,300 households lost power, and 84,000 households lacked running water. Around 9,000 residents evacuated to shelters. Aftershocks led to an explosion at Aeon Mall Kumamoto, killing at least seven. Nippon Paper Industries reported nine employee deaths from a smokestack collapse.
