Anime Updates for the Spring 2026 Season

HIDIVE has made several announcements regarding its streaming lineup for the upcoming spring 2026 season. Fans can anticipate new and returning series, with three titles confirmed to begin streaming in April. These include Yowayowa Sensei, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior Season 2, and Farming Life in Another World 2.

Yowayowa Sensei Joins the Lineup

HIDIVE will begin streaming the anime adaptation of Yowayowa Sensei on April 11. This television anime, based on Kamio Fukuchi's manga, is set to premiere on April 11 at 9:30 p.m. Japan Standard Time on AT-X. Additional broadcasts will follow on Tokyo MX, ABC TV, and BS11.

The production team for Yowayowa Sensei features Hiroshi Ishiodori, known for his directorial work on Peach Girl and RIN-NE 3, at the helm for Brains Base. Yoshifumi Fukushima, who previously worked on Gunparade Orchestra, is overseeing the series scripts. Naoki Aisaka, recognized for character designs in Hero Tales, is responsible for the character designs. The musical composition is a collaborative effort between Akifumi Tada, whose credits include Skip Beat and Gunma-chan, and Rina Tayama, who has composed for Vampire Dormitory and Secrets of the Silent Witch.

The romantic comedy manga tells the story of Hiyori Hiwamura, a recent college graduate embarking on her career as a high school teacher. Hiwamura possesses a weak voice and low stamina, presenting an overall frail demeanor that naturally evokes a desire to protect her. Despite her gentle nature, students mistakenly perceive her meekness as intimidating, leading to her being feared as the rumored "Ms. Scary" who allegedly curses those who upset her. Regardless of this misunderstanding, she diligently works for her students. One student, Akihito Abikura, eventually discerns her true character.

The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen Returns for Season 2

The second season of The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior, adapted from Tenichi and Suzunosuke's light novel series, will debut on April 7. It will air on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time, which is 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Further broadcasts are scheduled for BS11 at 24:00 Japan Standard Time and MBS at 26:30 Japan Standard Time, effectively April 8 at 12 midnight and 2:30 a.m. respectively.

Norio Nitta, who directed the first season of Kami-sama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama, is returning to direct the new season at OLM Team Yoshioka. Deko Akao, known for series scripts in Pokémon: Journeys and Noragami, remains in charge of the series scripts for the second season. Hitomi Kōno is also reprising her role as character designer. The music composition team sees the return of Hanae Nakamura, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Kanade Sakuma, and Junko Nakajima, who are now joined by Misaki Tsuchida, Tsugumi Tanaka, and Kaho Sawada. The ending theme song, titled "Tarareba," will be performed by Garakuta.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the original light novels and the manga adaptation in English. The story introduces Pride Royal Ivy, an eight-year-old girl who realizes she has been reincarnated into the world of an otome game. Her destiny is to become the wicked queen and final boss of this game. In her new life, she is endowed with sharp intelligence, powerful abilities typical of a boss character, and significant influence over the kingdom as the crown princess. However, instead of pursuing a path of despair and destruction, Princess Pride chooses to abandon the villainous plan. She endeavors to protect the male love interests and save as many people as she can, actively working to avert the tragic future. The narrative explores whether this final boss character can ultimately earn the affection of her kingdom.

The first season of The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior premiered in July 2023. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime and provided streaming services on HIDIVE concurrently with its Japanese broadcast. Sentai Filmworks also released the anime on Blu-ray Disc in October 2024.
