Sakamoto Days Live-Action Film: New Teaser Trailer Released
A second teaser trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Yuuto Suzuki's "Sakamoto Days" manga has been released. The trailer showcases the film's action sequences, while also offering glimpses into Sakamoto's everyday life.

The film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 29.
Cast Members
Ren Meguro from Snow Man takes on the role of Tarō Sakamoto, while Fumiya Takahashi portrays Shin Asakura. Aya Ueto plays Aoi Sakamoto, Tarō's wife, and Miyu Yoshimoto plays Hana Sakamoto, Tarō's daughter. The cast also includes Mayū Yokota as Lu Shaotang, Junki Tozuka as Heisuke Mashimo, Akihisa Shiono as Kashima, and Keisuke Watanabe as Natsuki Seiba. Takumi Kitamura, Yūsei Yagi, and Meru Nukumi play the Order assassins Nagumo, Shishiba, and Osaragi, respectively.
Production Team
Yūichi Fukuda, known for his work on the live-action "Gintama" and "Under Ninja," is directing and writing the script for the film. Fukuda has stated that the editing process is complete and, even without CG and music, the film is ready for theatrical release. Keiya Tabuchi, who worked on "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time," the live-action "Attack on Titan," and "Kamen Rider Amazons," is in charge of the action direction. CREDEUS is producing the film in collaboration with Avex Pictures.
Manga Origins
Suzuki initially published a one-shot titled "Sakamoto" in Jump Giga in December 2019. Subsequently, the main manga series was launched in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020. The manga entered its "final battle" in August 2025.

Viz Media and MANGA Plus are publishing the manga in English digitally. Viz is also releasing the manga in print.
Manga Storyline
The story centers on Taro Sakamoto, a legendary assassin who retired after falling in love. After marriage and fatherhood, Sakamoto gained weight and became a store owner. The series follows his attempts to protect his family from danger.
Spin-off and Novels
The manga has a spin-off titled "Sakamoto Holidays," which launched in Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine in July 2024. Tetsu Ōkawa, an assistant on the main manga, is drawing the spin-off. A novel inspired by the main manga was released in April 2023, and a second novel followed in December 2024.
Anime Adaptation
The anime adaptation of the manga premiered on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels in January 2025. The series also debuted on Netflix concurrently. The first part of the anime consisted of 11 episodes.
Anime Second Part
The second part of the anime premiered in July 2025 on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels. The first episode of the second part was streamed in advance on Netflix in the same month, with only the 12th episode being streamed simultaneously with the Japanese TV broadcast.
Anime Future
The anime series has been confirmed for a second season.
Puzzle Game
A smartphone puzzle game inspired by the manga was launched in April 2025.
