Character Visuals Revealed
Fans can now get a closer look at the characters in the anime with the release of five new visuals. The characters featured are Koichi Asakura, Eren Yamagishi, Sayuri Kato, Akari Kishi, and Yusuke Kamiya. Each visual showcases the character's design and personality, giving viewers a glimpse into the world of Eren the Southpaw.
Limited Theatrical Screening
Before the television broadcast, the first three episodes of the anime will have a limited one-week theatrical screening in Japan. This exclusive event will commence on March 27, offering fans an early opportunity to experience the anime on the big screen.
Star-Studded Cast
The anime boasts a talented cast who will bring the characters to life. Shoya Chiba will voice Koichi Asakura, while Yumi Uchiyama will portray Eren Yamagishi. Yui Ishikawa will play Sayuri Kato, Akira Sekine will voice Akari Kishi, and Kazuyuki Okitsu will lend his voice to Yusuke Kamiya. The cast also includes Yurina Amami as Yurina Mitsuhashi and Koji Yusa as Hajime Yanagi.
Story Synopsis
The story revolves around Koichi Asakura, a high school student who dreams of becoming a designer. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters graffiti art in an art museum. The artist is Eren Yamagishi, a left-handed high school student whose talent has been stifled due to a past incident.
Drawn together by their shared passion for art, Koichi and Eren embark on their respective journeys. Koichi pursues his dream of becoming a designer, while Eren aims to become a painter. Their paths intertwine as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of the art world.
Production Team
Toshimasa Suzuki is directing the anime at Production I.G and Signal.MD. Taku Kishimoto is in charge of the series scripts, ensuring a faithful adaptation of the manga's storyline. Takayuki Goto is responsible for the animation character designs, bringing the characters to life with his artistic vision. Yuka Fukuchi and Akane Tamai are designing the characters and serving as chief animation directors.
The additional staff members include Mitsuko Sekimoto as the Color Key Artist, Takeshi Sato as the Art Director, Kazuhiro Obata as the Art Setting, Shun Arimura as the Compositing Director of Photography, and Jun'ichi Masunaga as the Editor. Jin Aketagawa is the Sound Director, and PC Music Club is composing the music.
Manga Origins
Kappi originally debuted the manga on the cakes web manga service in March 2016. Later, Kappi launched a remake with art by nifuni on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service in October 2017. The manga concluded in October 2022, but it had an extra chapter in December. Shueisha published the manga's 23rd and 24th compiled book volumes in December.
Live-Action Adaptation
The manga's popularity led to a live-action series adaptation in October 2019, further expanding the franchise's reach.
