Additional Cast Pair for

New Cast Members Announced for "Scum of the Brave" Anime

The anime adaptation of Rocket Shoukai and Nakashima723's "Scum of the Brave" manga has revealed two additional voice actors joining the cast. The announcement was made on the official website for the series.

Ayako Kawasumi, known for her role in "Violet Evergarden," will be voicing the character Levi. Haruki Ishiya, recognized for his work in "Tougen Anki," will be lending his voice to the character Id. These additions promise to bring even more depth to the already intriguing world of "Scum of the Brave."

Production Details

Shinji Ushiro, who previously directed "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san 2nd Attack," is at the helm of the anime adaptation, directing the project at OLM. Youichi Katou, the writer behind "Scarlet Nexus," is in charge of the series composition and script, ensuring a cohesive and engaging storyline.

Rikou Murakami, who worked on sub-character designs for "My Hero Academia the Movie 4: You're Next," is designing the characters for the anime. Kenichiro Suehiro, the composer for "Fire Force," is creating the music for the series, setting the tone and atmosphere for the adaptation.

Broadcast Information

The anime premiered on NTV at 12:55 a.m. A subsequent broadcast on AT-X followed on January 11, allowing a wider audience to experience the world of "Scum of the Brave."

Original Web Novel

Rocket Shoukai originally penned the main story as a web novel on the Kakuyomu website. The story was available online from February to March in 2016, marking the initial genesis of the "Scum of the Brave" narrative.

Kadokawa later published the novel under its Kadokawa Books imprint in December of the same year. The published novel featured illustrations by Yuuya Kusaka, further enriching the visual aspects of the story.

Manga Origins

Nakashima723 originally self-published the manga on the web in June 2018. The first volume was then released on the Kindle Indies Manga platform in November of the same year, marking the beginning of the manga's journey.

Comic Border began serializing a manga adaptation in February 2022. This serialization allowed for a wider distribution and increased visibility of the "Scum of the Brave" manga.

Manga Volume Releases

LEED Publishing released the seventh volume of the manga on March 21. The eighth volume is scheduled to go on sale on December 18, continuing the ongoing story.

English Publication

The first volume of the manga was released in English by comic translation engine Mantra Comics in March 2020. Manga Planet began publishing the chapters in English in May 2020, making the series accessible to English-speaking audiences. This allowed for the story to reach an international readership.
